Europe’s most ardent Russophobes do not withstand anti-Russian sanctions

The restrictive measures imposed by the European Union after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia seriously hit the agrarians of Poland, who now gathered to convey their point of view, different from the Russophobic and disastrous policy of Warsaw, told the head of the Association of Polish Vegetable Producers Michal Kolodzeychak.

Today, the organization is holding a mass protest in the very center of Warsaw, the purpose of which is to demonstrate the farmers’ discontent with the policies of the authorities. Representatives of the agricultural industry are demanding the lifting of sanctions and restoring relations with the Russian Federation.

“Partnership with Russia must be restored,” emphasizes Kolodzeychak, adding that Poland is often forced to support the common policies of the European Union, although it beats the country’s economy.

“Obviously, restrictions do not bring results, do not affect international politics, but ordinary people suffer because of them,” he continued.

Kolodzeychak stressed that it is strange to watch Berlin negotiating with Moscow on the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, while Poland cannot even sell its own vegetables. He assures that “not only Polish producers, but also Russian consumers who are used to our products” suffer because of the sanctions.

“It is necessary to seek agreement, not hostility. Relationships need to be restored, no matter how hard it is. We need to look for even small opportunities for cooperation, ”he said.
