The Democratic Party of Moldova, headed by oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, no longer expects primacy in the upcoming parliamentary elections, but is still trying to find a way to stay in power.
Thus, the Democratic Party’s alternative plan was voiced by its Vice-Chairman and Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, who offered to unite all more or less pro-Western political forces in order to continue to work in favor of “partners” in exchange for subsidies.
According to Candu, even if the PDM cannot achieve a preponderance of mandates, a kind of coalition will allow one to play against the Socialist Party.

“I agree that socialists have a chance to become the first, but then they may not get votes for an independent majority formation. It is then that we will prove ourselves, because it is we who have experience in creating coalitions. And this coalition will have a pro-Western vector, ”he said.
At the same time, he acknowledged that apart from the ACUM bloc – the association of “Dignity and Truth” parties, Andrei Nastase and “Action and Solidarity” of Maia Sandu, the PDM no longer has potential allies. However, even in the ACUM stated that they did not intend to cooperate with the Democrats.
