Trump’s Close Ally, Roger Stone Arrested for Giving False Testimony to Congress

Donald Trump’s long time confidante and adviser Roger Stone will not rule out cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Stone was arrested and charged with a string of offences on Friday, including obstruction, making false statements to Congress and witness tampering.

Shortly after he was charged, Stone gave a press conference outside the courthouse, and claimed that he would not testify against Trump.

However, on Sunday, Stone told ABC Newshe would have to consult with his lawyers before deciding whether to cooperate with Mueller’s investigation.

“If there’s wrongdoing by other people in the campaign that I know about, which I know of none, but if there is I would certainly testify honestly,” Stone said.

“Stone is the sixth Trump aide or adviser charged by Mueller and the 34th person overall,” the Associated Press says.
