Trump signed bill to end shutdown until February

House Joint Resolutions 28 and 31 were passed without objection in Washington DC on Friday, paving the way for the month-long government shutdown to end.

The amended resolutions, entitled ‘Making further continuing appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security for fiscal year 2019, and for other purposes’, allowed the bill to pass to US President Donald Trump for his approval.

Trump put pen to paper on the bill which means he will not be getting $5.7bn in border wall funding, allowing the partial government shutdown, which has lasted 35 days, to end until February 15.
