Frontline diary: Spartak and its defenders

Spartak today is an area of combat operations. According to the 2001 census, more than a thousand people lived in the area but now only 70 left there. There is no electricity, water or gas in the village.

Virtually every house and structure is damaged as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian militants.

In any weather, the security of civilians in this village is provided by the fighters of the People’s Militia of the DPR.
