Sweden arrests terror suspect in overnight raids

Sweden’s security service, Säpo, said on Thursday that they have arrested a man in western Sweden suspected of preparing or inciting a terrorist attack.

“The person has carried out preparations for the suspected terror crime for some time and there are international connections,” Säpo said in a statement at 9 am Thursday.

Several other people have been taken in for questioning following the joint police-Säpo operation targeting several places in western Sweden overnight.

Sweden’s terror threat level remains unchanged at elevated, which is a three on a scale of five, Säpo said.
