The Washington Post reports that the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is discussing the possibility of imposing a fine on Facebook company for violating the agreement on the protection of the privacy of users’ personal data.
The FTC investigation concerns a scandal with the British company Cambridge Analytica, to which Facebook has transferred personal data of more than 87 million users.
It is expected that the penalty will significantly exceed the amount imposed on Google in 2012, the size of which amounted to $ 22.5 million, which is currently considered a record in the US.
