Migrant caravan reaches Guatemala

Hundreds of Honduran migrants walked through the border into Guatemala on Wednesday, after being held up at Agua Caliente crossing the day before.

Guatemala’s National Immigration Institute reportedly claimed there were 325 children among the migrants, with approximately one hundred of people from El Salvador joining them as well.

The caravan left Honduras amid the US Federal government shutdown due to the dispute between US President Donald Trump and house Democrats over funding for a wall along the US border with Mexico. Many among them hope to reach Mexico and the United States.
