A man believed to be James Goddard was detained outside St James’ Park underground station.
His supporters claimed he was about to hand himself in at Holborn police station at 12pm, according to BBC journalist Daniel Sandford.
Police confirmed a man in his late 30s was arrested at 11.42am today at the tube station, on suspicion of a public order offence.
He is currently in police custody and is being taken to a central London police station.

Goddard claims Facebook have “silenced” him by removing his account.
The 29-year-old Brexiteer played a role in organising France-style “yellow vests” protests in London and has been filmed berating Remain MPs, including Tory MP Anna Soubry earlier this week outside Westminster.
