Hundreds of federal workers and union members marched to the steps of the White House to call for an end to the government shutdown as it entered its 20th day on Thursday.
Furloughed – temporarily laid-off – government employees braved a cold winter’s day to demand that the Trump administration put an end to the shutdown and allow them to get back to work.
The president was not there to see them, having already left to visit the US-Mexico border in Texas.
Union leaders have promised more protests if the federal stalemate continues.
