Jacob Riemer came from Germany to Rozhava in 2013 and enlisted first in the YPG detachments, and then the PKK, taking part in hostilities (mainly against the Turks). He fought under the name Shiyar Gabar.
July 9, 2018 he was killed by the Turks during the battle near the city of Zagros.
