During the first week of 2019, at least two applicants refused to take the post of US Secretary of Defense.
As the American edition of Politico writes, the former Republican Senator from Arizona John Kyle refused from the post of head of the Pentagon. Before him, retired US General Jack Keane, who is now Trump’s consultant, did not agree to take this post.
And for Keen, this is the second refusal: he did not agree to take the post of head of the Department of Defense even during the formation of the US government in 2016, immediately after Trump’s victory in the presidential election.
