December 11 will see the House of Commons vote on an agreement related to Britain’s withdrawal from the EU that was earlier clinched between London and Brussels. The vote is expected to result in a no-deal Brexit, as many MPs previously indicated that they may say “no” to Prime Minister May’s agreement with the bloc.
UK Prime Minister Theresa May has made a last-ditch phone call to European Commission President Donald Tusk, which came amid reports that she agonized when contemplating postponing a “doomed” vote on the Brexit deal slated for Tuesday, according to The Telegraph.
May previously announced that her Cabinet had approved a Brexit deal and shortly after the announcement, a wave of resignations hit her Cabinet. So far, seven ministers have left the Cabinet, including Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab.
