State of Palestine: Scores wounded by Israeli live ammo at Gaza border protest

Dozens of Palestinians were injured after being fired upon with live ammunition by Israeli soldiers while protesting along the border with Israel in the Gaza Strip on Friday, as the ‘Great March of Return’ protests resumed.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 17 Palestinian protesters were injured by live ammunition and at least 35 sustained suffocation from tear gas inhalation.

The Great March of Return, launched in late March, form a series of protests along the Israeli-Palestinian border to demand the right for Palestinians to return to their families’ pre-1948 homes.
