In Montenegro, the opposition “Democratic Front” last night held a rally in support of the leaders of this bloc, deputies Milan Knezhevic and Nebojsa Medojevic.
According to the organizers of the protest, the case against them is politically motivated. “Persecution” against the leadership of the DF began immediately after the parliamentary elections in October 2016, when it was accused of having links with Russia and an attempted coup d’état.
The leader of United Montenegro, Goran Danilovic, at a rally, called on the country’s authorities to stop the “hunt” for the opposition, the IN4S portal reports.
“Colleagues from the opposition! Your task is to protect the dignity of the parliament, but also the people who voted for you,” Danilovic reminded, calling on the opposition to join the protests.
Deputy Nebojsa Medoevic is now in prison and is on a hunger strike. Milan Knezhevic barricaded himself in the parliament building with party members. He stated that he would not surrender to the police, but he was ready for negotiations.
