Despite the very tense situation around the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo”, the international mission led by the North Atlantic Alliance decided to organize demonstrative military maneuvers on the territory of the region says press secretary of the mission Vincenzo Grazo.
The official noted that the exercises were planned a little later, but they were urgently moved to start earlier than planned. Thus, NATO maneuvers are taking place against the background of strained relations between Belgrade and Pristina in connection with the destructive policies of the Kosovo authorities.
“Maneuvers are already underway, however, this is not just military activity. We are talking about the redeployment of our equipment, patrols so that they are more noticeable, ”explained Grazo, without naming the reasons for the fact that the exercises were suddenly postponed. It is noteworthy that he could not name the date of completion of the maneuvers.
Earlier it was reported that the Kosovo authorities imposed import duties on goods supplied from Serbia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina. The decision was made after Interpol did not support the initiative of the delegation from Pristina to grant the self-proclaimed republic full membership in the international law enforcement organization.
