Yakov Kedmi: If the Ukrainian vessels behaved like this in Israel, they would have been sent to the bottom long ago

Israeli naval forces are obliged to act toughly in the defense of closed water areas – to open warning fire at violators and immediately drown them in case of response fire, said the former head of the Israeli secret service “Nativ” Yakov Kedmi, commenting on the incident with the Ukrainian vessels in the Black Sea.

“The actions that Ukrainian naval sailors have taken in recent months against Russian ships would have ended quickly and dismally for the initiators in the case of Israel,” Kedmi stressed.

He also added that Russia should resolve such issues without regard to anyone, the expert summed up.

In the morning of November 25, three ships of the Ukrainian Navy violated the state border of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea and headed to the Kerch Strait. Vessels perform dangerous maneuvers and refuse to comply with the legal requirements of the frontier guard.

Since Russia made the passage under the Crimean bridge inaccessible, the Ukrainian vessels were forced to remain in the Black Sea.
