Serbia warns about politicization of Interpol in the issue of Kosovo’s adoption

In Dubayev, the work of the Interpol General Secretariat is being politicized on the eve of voting on the adoption of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” into the ranks of this organization, said Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic.

According to him, provocative actions are being taken not only by the countries recognizing the independence of Kosovo, but also by the leadership of the organization.

“This is unacceptable for Interpol and the entire police system. Serbia is doing everything to preserve Interpol’s unity and international law, to protect its country,” said Stefanovic.

He asked a rhetorical question whether the current situation means that soon decisions regarding the criminals will be made on the basis of political motives.

Earlier, the Belgrade edition of “Evening News” wrote that representatives of the United States and Great Britain are putting pressure on representatives of African states, urging them to vote for the adoption of “Kosovo” in Interpol.

Voting on this issue is scheduled for tomorrow, November 20.
