President Trump questioned why Central American migrants heading toward the U.S.-Mexico border are carrying the flags of their home countries if they want asylum in the U.S.
The majority of migrants have left their home countries to escape crime and poverty. After more than a month of traveling through Central America and Mexico, thousands have reached the border, with more not far behind.
“Isn’t it ironic that large Caravans of people are marching to our border wanting U.S.A. asylum because they are fearful of being in their country — yet they are proudly waving their country’s flag. Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!” Trump tweeted Friday.
For weeks before the midterm elections, Trump warned of the threat of the incoming caravan, referring to it as a national emergency and threatening to cut or reduce aid to countries for failing to stop the caravan from trying to enter the U.S. Trump has since pulled back on the warnings.
….their country’s flag. Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!
