The sanctions policy of the United States can play a cruel joke with Washington. Desperately trying to close all doors in front of Russia, it forgot about one that could cost him dearly. This was told by German political analyst Alexander Rahr on the Internet channel “PolitWera”.
According to him, this “door” is the countries of Asia, united with which Moscow will be able to put an end to the history of American supremacy in the world political arena. Already now, he notes, Russia is moving in this direction. In particular, work is under way on a peace treaty with Japan, despite the fact that Tokyo holds a pro-American position in its views.
Rahr also drew attention to the fact that the situation could have been quite different if Washington had managed to lure the Asian states to their side in the anti-Russian game. “There would be a quiet horror, – emphasizes the expert. “But Asia is not playing this game.”
In his opinion, in a rather complicated situation, Russia managed to find important, and most importantly, quality partners, including India, China, and Turkey, who increasingly prefer the Eurasian political vector. Beijing, in turn, will take an egocentric position, but the political scientist is sure to have to reckon with it. At the same time, he added that in China they understand the importance of cooperation with Russia, after all, Washington has already shown itself in a trade war.
“It is clear to them that the following sanctions will fall on them, therefore they will interact with Russia as closely as possible. I would like to believe that Putin will be able to find a common language with Japan, to sign a peace agreement. <…> Then the redistribution of the world will come, and everything will return to its place. ”
