It was Kanev who was one of the main ideologists of fake revelations in the scandalous case of Skripals. He made his sensations on demand from “above” right in Russia and spread it here. In particular, the version according to which one of the “suspects” of committing a crime in the British Salisbury “evacuated” the ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich during a coup d’etat, belongs to his authorship. At the same time, the mass media report that when this “version” failed miserably, popularity with his stuffing diminished, but Kanev did not want to end his career, so he moved to Latvia to continue his anti-Russian activities to instructors.

It is worth noting that traveling abroad is not new for Kanev. He has become a frequent guest of Western capitals ever since he contacted the notorious Mikhail Khodorkovsky and his Investigation Management Center. For two years he has been in Berlin, London, Tel Aviv and Riga. Of course, all these trips paid off. In particular, according to information made public in the media, only Khovorkovsky’s Open Russia listed Kanev with 15.5 thousand dollars. And the “European Choice” of the same Khodorkovsky for the year transferred the “journalist” more than 43 thousand dollars.

They paid him and the edition of Roman Dobrokhotov “The Insider”, from which Kanev received a total of more than 6 thousand euros, the British company “Alaco”, which accrued 10 thousand dollars at the end of last year, it is not clear why.

However, as it turned out, Kanev would have been very far from such earnings if it had not been for the decision made at the headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service of the United Kingdom Foreign Office, known as MI-6. With British agent Chris Mitchell, who officially appears to be the producer, Kanev, who appeared in Moscow on July 26, 2016. It was then that Kanev’s cooperation began with the Khodorkovsky project as part of the task from MI-6. And soon he was able to show his full potential in the scandalous spaces of Bellingcat and The Insider, becoming famous for his loud throw-ins designed to discredit Russia.
