Donald Trump’s administration is shredding the United States’ “moral fabric”, Joe Biden has said, days before the midterm elections.
The former vice president said Democrats must take back the country to reset the nation’s moral compass: “This is the United States of America. We can take it back.”
Mr Biden, who was campaigning in a tight congressional race in conservative central Pennsylvania, urged people to vote, and said: “We are in a battle for America’s soul.”
Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday to decide whether they favour Mr Trump’s politics or those of the Democratic Party, with all 435 seats of the US House up for re-election as well as 35 Senate seats.
While he is not on the ballot, the president has acknowledged the 2018 midterms will, above all, represent a referendum on his presidency.
