Obama accuses Trump, GOP of lying

During his campaign speech on Friday, former US president Barack Obama lashed out at the current president of the United States and the Republicans, accusing them of telling lies, agencies reported on Saturday.

In his campaign trail in Michigan and Wisconsin, Obama tried to convince people to vote for Democratic candidates.

‘The speeches were among Obama’s sharpest and most direct takedowns of Trump’s presidency, although the former president was careful to not mention Trump by name,’ Associated Press wrote.

Obama referred to Donald Trump’s recent remarks in which he had vowed to convince Congress to pass a tax cut plan before November’s midterm elections.

“Congress isn’t even in session before the election! He just makes it up!” Obama said.

He also accused Republicans of lying when they say they protect people, since they are trying to ‘repeal the Affordable Care Act,’ nicknamed Obamacare.

‘What we have not seen before in our public life is politicians just blatantly, repeatedly, baldly, shamelessly, lying. Just making stuff up,” Obama added.

The mid-term elections will be held on November 15th.

After nearly two years of silence, US former president, Barack Obama who was a member of the Democratic Party is now back to the political arena.

Republicans are likely to lose the House majority.
