Hug: We haven’t found direct evidence of Russia’s participation in the Donbass conflict

The OSCE monitoring mission did not record direct evidence of Russia’s participation in the conflict in the Donbass. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the OSCE SMM Alexander Hug in an interview for Foreign Policy.

He was asked what is the official OSCE position on Russia’s participation in the conflict in the Donbass.

“If the question is what we saw on earth, then we have not seen direct evidence. But we saw convoys that were leaving and entering Ukraine in the middle of the night in places where there are no border points,” Hug said.

According to him, the OSCE has posted some records in free access.

“We saw specific types of weapons that we described, including electronic military equipment … We saw men with signs of the Russian Federation, but you can buy such a jacket anywhere. We also saw the emblems of Germany, Spain and other countries, ”Hug added.
