Turkey committed to bring Jamal Khashoggi’s killers to justice

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s address to parliament on Tuesday, on the brutal murder of prominent Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi underlines in no uncertain terms, the country’s resolve and commitment to bringing the killers to justice.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Merve Safa Kavakci said her country’s willingness to expose the heinous crime – complemented by strong collaboration of the country’s security forces and intelligence services – helped to unravel the incident which the president himself described as a “ferocious” premeditated murder.

“It is very important to know that the president addressed the international community with a very clear tone on the message of Turkey’s resolve and commitment to do whatever necessary in research, and collaboration with all parties involved to get to the bottom of this very atrocious attack and blatant murder of a civilian, journalist and citizen of this planet.

“Considering the fact that we come from a tradition where killing one person is equivalent to killing the entire humanity, it is unfathomable to argue that the perpetrators of this very killing of the late Khashoggi be not brought to justice.

“In this regard, I am very proud to note our security forces and intelligence services were very meticulous and comprehensive in carrying out their task to make sure that this murder, that took place at a world centre like Istanbul, did not go unnoticed,” she told Bernama in an exclusive interview at the national news agency’s headquarters in Wisma Bernama here today.
