Bosnia and Herzegovina: Several injured as migrants clash with police at Croatian border

Several people have been injured, and at least two hospitalised, after migrants fought with Croatian police at the Maljevac border crossing near Velika Kladusa in the north-west of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday.

Over 300 hundred migrants had gathered at the crossing point in an attempt to force their way into Croatia, and therefore the European Union (EU). Events turned violent after some of the assembled migrants started throwing stones and scuffling with the Croatian riot police deployed to block their passage through.
