Dozens of protesters opposing government’s proposed budget for 2019 clashed with police in front of the Argentinian National Congress in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
Protesters used slingshots and threw missiles. Police responded with tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse the group.
Nine people were reportedly detained, with no reported injuries.
The lower house was due to discuss the austerity measures but the session was temporarily suspended.
Argentina has been struggling economically with the Argentine peso losing half of its value since the start of the year and an inflation rate predicted to reach 40 percent.
