Lavrov says Russia will not allow NATO vessels hold drills in Azov Sea

Ukraine will not be able to conduct joint NATO exercises in the sea of Azov, as this requires the consent of Russia. This was stated by foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov in an interview with RT France, Paris Match and Figaro. A transcript of the interview posted on the foreign Ministry website.

“Now Ukraine wants to invite NATO exercises in the sea of Azov, but there will be impossible to go through because our agreement with Ukraine requires mutual consent for the passage of warships in the sea of Azov. But they want, and they actively indulge” he said.

The head of Russian diplomacy pointed out that NATO continues to accumulate weapons on Russia’s borders. “Comes a mindset for upgrading transport infrastructure in Europe so that American heavy weapons, and probably weapons of other NATO countries, it was easier to choose our borders, openly provocative teachings, not our with China in the middle of Siberia, and the Ukraine, in Georgia and in the Black sea”, — said Lavrov.
