An armed group kidnapped 14 Iranian border guards at the Mirjaveh border point in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province on Tuesday, official IRNA news agency reported.
The Iranian security forces were kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday morning, an informed source told IRNA.
According to Xinhua news agency, Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province, bordering Pakistan is the locus for frequent armed clashes between the Iranian security forces and armed rebels or smugglers.
