Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who came to power during the indicative “Velvet Revolution”, is trying to establish absolute hegemony, preparing a serious blow to the country’s parliament.
Political scientist Yervand Bozoyan told this in a comment to Sputnik Armenia.
According to him, the victory of Pashinyan’s bloc at the elections of the mayor of Yerevan marked a new stage in the war of the revolutionary prime minister with the opposition in the parliament. “He will try to put pressure on the National Assembly to hold elections as soon as possible, while his rating is high,” Bozoyan said.
At the same time, the political scientist is sure, the parliamentary forces will soon be forced to form a kind of coalition that will guarantee their survival in the political arena.
“No one wants to drop out of the political field, therefore, a confrontation between the legislature and Pashinyan will begin,” the expert stated.
