UK: UKIP leader promises to ‘hit Remainers hard’ in next election

UKIP Leader Gerard Batten vowed his party would hit Remain-supporting MPs “hard” and kick them out of their seats in the event of a general election. He made the statement at the party’s annual conference in Birmingham on Friday.

Batten said, “In the next general election, UKIP intends to run in every constituency. But we will target some seats. I am not going to tell you exactly where today, but I will tell you that we are going to hit Remainers hard.”

He also revealed that the party would commit to abolishing the BBC license fee, noting that “we would make it into a subscription service and those who want to listen to a string of politically correct anti-Brexit bias can decide if they want to pay for it or not.”
