Denmark: Traffic resumes following major police manhunt

Traffic on bridges and ferry transit was restored following a large-scale manhunt by police and the armed forces on the Danish island of Zealand on Friday.

The Oresund Bridge, which links Denmark and Sweden, and the Great Belt Bridge, which links the Danish islands of Funen and Zealand, were both closed as police attempted to seal off the capital Copenhagen. Ferries were also temporarily halted.

In a press release, Copenhagen Police said they were searching for three people in a Volvo V90 car, who were involved in a ‘serious crime.’

The shut bridges and rail station were reopened at around 2pm local time (12 GMT). However, security forces reportedly continue to screen vehicles.
