Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu gave a high assessment to the Vostok-2018 drills results during an interview in Moscow on Monday.
“Of course we have planned those drills and we consider to hold them every five years.”
“Of course we are not intent to advance to anyone. There are not even elements which presuppose that we are going to hold offensive operations on foreign territories.”
“Plan is ratified by Supreme Commander-in-Chief and his participation in these drills of course was not limited by visiting polygon Tsugol. It was a way broaden, it was a way deeper because that visible part of the drills, which the whole country could witness and which all TV-channels showed, was just a tip of what was actually under way.”“We got hardware which meet our expectations and absolutely guarantee us to carry out military operations on very, very, very high and modern level.”
“When we saw that we did not have any church dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic war – the most difficult, bloodiest one – but it should be. We discussed it with colleagues and began this big enterprise and we hope that it will be genuinely people’s church.”
