USA: Trump warns of ‘one the biggest ever’ as Hurricane Florence approaches

The East Coast of the United States has been bracing for Hurricane Florence as the country is expected to be hit by “one of the biggest ever” storms in years, according to US President Donald Trump speaking at a White House event in Washington DC on Wednesday.

“It’s coming in fairly fast and it’s going to be one of the biggest to ever hit the East Coast, one of the biggest ever to hit our country,” stated Trump, adding that “We are ready, but this is going to be one of the biggest ones to ever hit our country.”

“Maybe something will happen but it’s looking like that probably won’t be taking place unfortunately, meaning veering away from land,” Trump added, addressing attendants of the Congressional Medal of Honour Society Reception.

The Category three hurricane is predicted to make its first impact on North Carolina’s coast around Thursday noon with winds blowing at 185 kilometres (115 miles) per hour.
