Argentina: Thousands march against economic policies in Buenos Aires

Thousands of people took to the streets of Buenos Aires on Wednesday to protest against the economic policies of Argentinian President Mauricio Macri.

Protesters marched through the city’s main streets and held banners decrying Macri’s fiscal adjustment policies.

“We believe that the situation has to do with a country that produces food for 400 million people and today is at risk of not being able to feed the entirety of our children, half of the children are poor,” one protester said.

Protesters argued that Macri’s recent $50 billion (€42.75) rescue package agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will harm citizens.
