Special Envoy of the Russian President for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev claimed that peaceful co-existence with terrorists in Syria is “simply impossible,” after meeting with the UN Special envoy to this country Staffan de Mistura, in Geneva, on Tuesday.
The Russian top-rank diplomat underlined that the fight against militants must be conducted so that Syrian civilians don’t fall victim to it.
Alexander Lavrentyev also said that some media had already arrived in Idlib province and started filming “staged videos on what they call usage of chemical weapons in Idlib.”
Russian Special Envoy for Syria once again urged the international community to be accurate and balanced in their assessments in the case of a possible provocation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Staffan de Mistura and representatives of the three guarantor states Russia, Turkey and Iran, held a quadrilateral session at the Palais des Nations, the UN Geneva office, to discuss the formation of the Syrian constitutional commission and the situation in Idlib.
