Syria: Captured ISIS fighter talks about US aid and training they receive

During the reconnaissance and search operations and inspection of caves in the area of the burial site of Kabr al-Sheikh Hussein,  units of 10 and 15 Special Forces divisions of the SAR  were taken prisoner by the militant of the terrorist group IGIL. He tried to penetrate the city of Essaouira between units.

What’s your name? What is your call sign? Where you’re from? In which detachment was he? Number of groupings?

My name is Suheb Izdin al-Zobi. My name is Abu-Umar al-Horani. From the village of El-Pahet. He was in IGIL. In particular, in the detachment “Black Stone”. The leader of the group is IGIL * Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi.

The field commander of the detachment “Black Stone” Abu Ayub al-Iraqi. The strength of the group in the Desert area of Essaouida is about 1,500 militants, and the number of militants in my detachment is 250 people. Arms and products were supplied by the US military.

Where did you get training? How much did you pay?

I was trained by the Americans in the ranks of IGIL in the Ruhrban refugee camp. I needed money, and so I agreed. We paid 50-100 dollars a month.

We were trained by American instructors. We were divided into several groups by specialties: artillerymen, demolitionists and infantrymen. I was in the infantry group.

Often we have seen in the media, social networks “Whatsapp” and “Facebook”  children who kill prisoners. What do you know about these children and where are they?

These children are not to blame. They did not know what they were doing. They were brainwashed, and so they only know the only truth – to shed blood, killing people. The children stopped understanding what charity is. They are also taught how to behave in different types of combat.

After training, where do these children go? Will they be like suicide bombers?

Yes.

Where are they trained?

In the same place as me: in the camp of Er-Rukban.

Recently there was the offensive of IGIL on Essaouira. What task did you perform in the offensive?

Our group consisted of suicide bombers. The task was to organize terrorist attacks inside the city of Essaouide, and after that, the offensive of other detachments should immediately begin. One group was sent to Idlib’s side to shoot a provocative video of chemical attacks for CAA accusations.

Abu Umar, did you go to school?

I was at the third year of law university. Then I joined the army.

Where did you serve?

In Herbet ash-Shayakh.

In  which unit did you serve?

Masking.

Why did you change the specialty of camouflage to an infantryman?

So the Americans wanted.

So the Americans wanted, or did you want to become a hero?

Americans themselves selected people by specialties.

Sukheb, you were in the “Black Stone” area (Hajar al-Aswad), and there came fighters from Wadi al-Yarmuk (IGIL) in the Tul al-Safa area. Where did the others leave?

Some of them left in the direction of Idlib. And then from Idlib to Turkey. A total of about 500 people left.

What do you know about the field commander of Abu Ayub al-Iraqi?

We were in the region of Hajar al-Aswad. We arrived in the Tul al-Safa area, and I personally swear that I have not seen al-Iraqi. I do not know what he looks like.

What kind of talk did you hear about him?

I’m a simple fighter. I did not hear any talk about him.
