Azerbaijani political scientist Fikret Sadikhov links Pashinyan’s upcoming trip to Moscow with panic that arose in Yerevan. At the same time, the expert believes that this visit for the head of the Armenian government is an opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty to the Russian side.
“Today, Armenia practically has no opportunities to enter the foreign, European markets, is deprived of the opportunity to participate in all projects that are being implemented in the South Caucasus. Yerevan today hopes only for Moscow. Russia has always been the main sponsor, donor and guardian of Armenia, “Sadikhov said in a comment to Trend News Agency.
According to him, “Pashinyan’s visit is to some extent connected with the panic that arose in Yerevan amid the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Russia and the documents signed during this visit.”
It is possible that the Armenian prime minister understands the whole complexity of the situation, the expert believes. The Russian side has many questions to Pashinyan, to which he will have to answer: “Whether he succeeds in doing this is a big question. It’s no secret that the level of Armenian-Russian relations has significantly decreased. “
At the same time, the political scientist stressed that while Armenia intentionally destroys relations with Moscow, Azerbaijan successfully develops them: “The reality is that there is a long-term format of strategic partnership between Baku and Moscow. During the visit of the Azerbaijani President to Russia, a large number of documents have been signed that confirm and expand bilateral cooperation in many spheres. Some Russian experts and deputies openly declare that Azerbaijan is a true ally of Russia in the territory of the South Caucasus. This is a serious recognition of the importance of bilateral cooperation. “
In conclusion, Sadikhov added that against the background of the above, “Pashinyan is going to Russia as a guilty student.”
