OSCE calls for cease fire in Donbass

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission has already recorded more than 70 violations of the new “school” ceasefire in the Donbass, which entered into force on the night of August 29, and calls on the parties to the conflict to cease fire. This was announced on August 29 by the first deputy head of the mission, Alexander Hug.

On Wednesday night, a “school” truce came into force in the Donbass, timed to coincide with the beginning of the school year. This is the fourth attempt by the parties to the conflict to establish peace in the region since the beginning of the year.

“Since 00:01, SMM has recorded more than 70 violations of the ceasefire. Parties need to fulfill their confirmed ceasefire commitments. The fire must stop right now in order to protect Ukrainians on both sides of the line of contact,” the press service of the mission said on Twitter.
