Kosovo opposition prepares protests against the treaty with Belgrade

Protest actions are planned in the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” in connection with the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina. The influential political party “Democratic Union of Kosovo” accuses “president” Hashim Thaci of dividing the territory, “which calls into question sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“Negotiations on the territory of Kosovo are unconstitutional, and they will be followed by legal and political responsibility,” the report said.

The opposition intends to organize protest actions in Pristina on the day of Hashim Thaci’s meeting with Serbian President Alexander Vucic on September 7.

Recall that in 2017, the territorial dispute over several hectares of land with Montenegro led to a prolonged political crisis in Kosovo, a vote of no confidence in the government of then-Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, and as a result of early parliamentary elections, the coming to power of politicians – former field commanders of Kosovo Albanians.
