ISIS suffers heavy casualties in Syrian Army advances in Sweida desert

The Syrian Army troops stormed ISIL’s strongholds in the Eastern Desert of Sweida on Saturday, inflicting tens of casualties on the terrorists and capturing a number of others.

The government forces engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in Eastern Desert of Sweida and managed to advance 1,500 meters against terrorists in the heights in Toloul a-Safa region, tightening noose on the terrorists.

Other army units carried out an ambush operation in Qabr Shekh Hossein region in Toloul al-Safa, killing 40 terrorists, wounding several more and arresting a number of them.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units pounded ISIL’s positions in Toloul al-Safa, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Also, the Syrian Air Force carried out combat flights over ISIL’s movements and positions in the depth of al-Lajah region in Western Sweida, and destroyed their bases and equipment.  

On Friday, the army men engaged in tough battle with ISIL in Tal Qanem in the depth of Toloul al-Safa in the Eastern Badiyeh of Sweida, imposing control over Khirbet al-Hawi.

Other units of the army fought with ISIL in Um Marzakh and Qabr Sheikh Hossein, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.

In the meantime, field sources said that the army soldiers continued advancing against terrorists, killing and wounding a number of them and capturing several more.

The sources further said that the army’s artillery units and aircraft pounded ISIL’s strongholds in Toloul al-Safar, inflicting major losses on them.
