A spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Interior told local media that about 9:00 am several rockets and mortars were thrown to various parts of the city from a place known as the Fish House behind the Eidgah Mosque in Kabul. The area was surrounded by government forces, Najib Danesh stated.
Najib Danesh added that preliminary reports suggest that between two to three attackers attacked the site and hit some targets in areas 1,10,16,2 and 9 of Kabul sporadically. Fortunately no man was killed and only two police officers received minor injury.
To a question about police report security measures had been intensified and protective layers had been raiseed in Kabul for Eid al-Adha and that how the attackers could enter the capital given so much volume of ammunition, he said investigations will be made.
He noted that civilians were not injured in the clashes between the security forces and the police on the one hand and the attackers on the other hand in the Fish House since the residents had been evacuated before the attack and now the area under attack is also under police siege to ensure that the invaders are not left there.
