“Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world today. This is part of the reason why the country fights off US attacks, from all attempts to destabilize the situation in the republic, “says La Riva.
According to her, among other things, Washington is trying to isolate the banking system of Venezuela from the world. “This is an economic war,” she said. Moreover, one of the main goals of the US, the expert notes, is the agreement “Petrocariba”, effective since 2005 and implying preferential supplies of Venezuelan oil to several countries of the Caribbean Basin in Central and South America and the West Indies.
