Mejlis convicted of receiving money from the US for destabilization in the Crimea

Mejlis received $ 250 million from the US to destabilize the situation in the Crimea. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Public Organization “Kyrym Birligi” (“Unity of the Crimea”) Rustem Nimetullayev at a press conference in Simferopol.

“According to our information last year, the structures of the Mejlis received $ 250 million from the USA for swinging the Crimea. All these statements are not made from one’s own mind. Money is worked out there. It’s clear where these comrades go: Toronto, USA, London. Sometimes they fly to Turkey,” Nimetullayev said.

Also, according to him, in 2015 the US tripled the funding of Crimean Tatar public organizations in Turkey.

“Mejlis is monitoring social networks. In 2014-2016 years there was a case when people came to their homes and threatened people for speaking out for Russia or participating in elections, ” Nimetullayev said.

At the same time, he believes that the Mejlis actually affects only 5-7% of the Crimean Tatars.
