Demonstrators rallied on Las Ramblas in Barcelona on Friday to protest against the presence of the Spanish king Felipe VI on the first anniversary of the van attacks which rocked the Catalan capital.
A banner was hung on the main building at the Plaza Catalonia reading “‘their wars, our deaths.”
