To monitor security in the demilitarized zone on the Golan Heights, the first four posts of the Russian military police were installed. This was told by the deputy commander of Russian troops in the SAR, Lieutenant-General Sergei Kuralenko.
“Currently, we are planning and have begun to implement this plan – to display the posts of the Russian military police in front of the” Bravo “line. That is, I emphasize, there is no military police directly in the demilitarized zone of posts.
At the same time, Kuralenko said that, if necessary, the number of posts will be increased to eight. According to him, the Russian military is doing everything “in order for the UN flag to stand on all posts and the mission worked in full in the demilitarized zone.”
He drew attention to the need for UN forces to monitor the disengagement and the UNDOF ceasefire regime to expand patrols, restoring it in the central and southern zone: “And we see our duty to help them.”
