USA: Five killed as light aircraft crashes into Southern California car park


Five people were killed as a light twin-engine Cessna aircraft crashed into a car park in Southern California’s Santa Ana on Sunday.

According to local Federal Aviation authorities, the pilot of the light aircraft declared an emergency landing about a mile (1.6 km) from the nearby John Wayne Airport in Orange County, before crashing into the car park of a Staples store and CVS pharmacy.

All five people killed were on board the Cessna aircraft with no casualties on the ground.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
