Hundreds of workers and local residents clashed violently with police at a sugar factory in Tuman in north-western Peru on Friday, in protest over the administration of the company being handed back to the Oviedo Group, which is led by the President of the Peruvian Football Federation Edwin Oviedo.
Footage shows police in riot gear being pelted with stones as they clash with protesters at the sugar company.
The Oviedo Group ran the sugar company from 2006 to 2015 and the workers there complained of poor administration and very low salaries.
In addition, Oviedo has been accused of corruption and providing illicit favours to a judge, with many pressuring him to resign his post as President of the Peruvian Football Federation.
