155 Palestinians martyred, 17259 injured in ‘Great March of Return’

The Ministry of Health in Gaza issued statistics on numbers of Palestinian peaceful protesters killed and injured during “the Great March of Return” protests since March 30th and until the end of July. 

The ministry said that 155 Palestinians were shot and killed and 17,259 received different injuries, including tear-gas suffocation. 

Twenty-three of those killed were minors under the age of 18 and three were women. 

The statistics said that 3279 of the total injuries were children and 1553 women. 

The ministry categorized the injuries as 404 critical injuries, 4141 moderate and 4354 minors injuries. 

Numbers by the ministry showed that 4348 of the injuries were with live bullets, 430 with rubber-coated steel bullets, 1593 severe gas suffocation cases and 2700 different other injuries. 

Sixty-eight amputation cases were reported, most of which in the lower extremities, two in the upper extremities and six fingers. 

Two medics were killed and another 360 injured with live bullets and tear-gas suffocation and 69 ambulances were damaged.
