Parties should move in one direction to achieve peace in Syria

By Monique Gimenez

If the Sochi summit on Syria, uniting the countries involved in the conflict, such as Turkey, Iran, Russia and the representative of the United Nations, can lead to resolutions that put an end to the conflict that tears it since 2011, this would mean the end of the nightmare for civilians and hope for displaced persons, whether on Syrian territory or beyond, who will be able to return home.

But to achieve a peaceful solution to this conflict, all parties involved in this conflict must move in one direction. Unfortunately, it is not like that.

This conflict clearly demonstrated three camps that confronted each other for different purposes: on the one hand, the Syrian government, supported by Russia and Iran, in order to maintain the territorial integrity of the country and, consequently, the destruction of terrorists; on the other hand, Turkey, which provided some support to the terrorists, attacking the Kurds; and finally, the US-led coalition, whose goal was to split the country, under the guise of fighting terrorists, which they also finance, and supply with weapons.

The states tried to impose again the Libyan scenario, with the aim of mastering the riches of Syria. Seventeen oil and gas wells were discovered in Syrian territorial waters. Which aggravates the appetites of some.

The Syrian army, with the support of Russia and Iran, has won almost all of its territory, there are only a few foci of resistance that will not resist for long.

EU leaders scream for victory, but who achieved it? Of course, not they and not the US. If the migration crisis can be solved, it is thanks to the Syrian army and its allies, because they are the main victors in this conflict, even Western media are obliged to recognize, but Westerners will never want to admit it because this would strengthen Assad’s ashes.

We see this on the example of France, which promises financial assistance in the event of Assad’s departure. Which is very similar to the scenario of the 2nd Balkan War, when NATO intervened illegally, as in Syria, bombed civilian infrastructure for several days and provided financial assistance only on the condition that Milosevic was arrested, the story repeats itself.

Terrorists have always been weapons in the hands of the West, mainly the United States, who are used to destabilizing countries.

They do not support the idea that a country can own its wealth, especially when this country is full of it, the feeling was the same for Russia, whose territory is also full of wealth. Syrian migrants who landed in Europe want only one thing: to return home. The mood of the European leaders – we do not care.

But when a person interferes in the country to destabilize it, he must take responsibility for the consequences. There’s a hope that the Syrian conflict will be settled someday, and will not be repeated elsewhere. Hopefully that with two opposing concepts of the world there will be no longer this western hegemony, a unipolar world is giving way to a bipolar world, and that’s good.
